| | Maybe excited by the finish of the editor, last week spend more time on game and reading articles.
It is nice to learn the The Moore theory hit a wall that big chip manufacturer fail to mass produce double speeded CPU since last yr (according to the projection, we should have around 4GHz cpu now) and that forced them to move to multi-core tech. In a programmer perpective, it means we cannot rely on hardware improvement to speed up our software. Instead we have to employ different strategies including, multithreading, cleaner and more efficient code, etc.
Moving to multithread/hyperthread is a natural trend but it is not like OO which is driven by design but hardware. Simply, if you want it faster, you have to do it. So I will overwhelm about 2-3yr from now which aggressive SW should have their new software/update running on the DuoCore CPU and Vista.
Time to learn new trick
